People get paid a lot of money.
In a lifetime, an average American will earn over $1M. An average Briton will make at least £500k. So why is it so many people feel broke?
NUMUNI exists because I wanted to build on the foundation my parents had set as Nigerian immigrants to the UK. I watched how we struggled to get by, living on council estates, dealing with debt, and never being able to experience much else outside of the west end of Newcastle.
With both my parents juggling multiple jobs at the same time, I wanted to grow up and make sure I wouldn’t have to do the same, while also setting up future generations after me so they wouldn’t have to do the same either.
Things began to change when I turned 18. I got my first job – a degree apprenticeship, and began to invest, albeit not seriously. I began to help out more with household bills. I helped out with errands after I got a car. Even got into my first car finance agreement (which I came to regret nine months into it).
I’m determined not to make the same mistakes my parents made, while also wanting to teach myself, my mother, friends, family, and anyone who’ll listen about the power that NUMUNI wields.
Once I learned about the importance of ownership and how it relates to wealth-building, I realised I needed to take matters into my own hands by cutting my debt, increasing my income, and diversifying my investments.
NUMUNI is here to stay and it’s something we can all build together.
